Christmas Morning
Julia was so excited to wake up on Christmas morning. She normally wakes up around 7 a.m. but then will go back to sleep, but not this morning at 7 she wanted up and wanted to stay up! She was so cute in her pj's and had such a great time playing with all the toys Santa brought. Her Nette, Pops, B, Papa, Uncle Casey, and Aunt Courtney and Aunt Lyn came over for breakfast and brought lots of other toys for her to open. She had a blast and it was so fun to watch her play with all the toys and crawl through all the wrapping paper and boxes!
Christmas Tree Hunting
We started our first tradition this Christmas with Julia...going to cut down a real Christmas tree and bring it home to put up in the house. Julia had such a great time making crazy faces on the hay ride out to find the perfect tree. It was really cold, but we had a wonderful time. John cut down the tree for us and loaded on the trailer to take home. Julia was all cuddled up in a blanket with her daddy on the hay ride back. She was getting really sleepy from all the hard work.

Daddy's Homecoming
Julia and I got to go to John's Homecoming game. Julia was all dressed in purple and had a cute purple and gold mum. One of the streamers on the mum said "I love daddy". It was so cute. We had a great time and Julia was so good. We lasted until right after half-time, then it was time to go home and go to bed. Aren't the coach and daughter so cute together!

It's all about the Remote
It doesn't matter where she is or what she's doing...if she sees the remote, she's after it. It can be across the room and if she spots it, there she goes. She can't really crawl completely yet, but the army crawl she does gets her where she wants to go very quickly! Don't turn around too long or she'll be gone.
5 Months Old
The sweet little girl turned five months old in August! I had to get a picture of her in her bathing suit in the water. She loves the water and this picture was so hard to take because I couldn't get her to stop splashing and trying to crawl out of the tub. She had so much fun! Her B bought her this suit and she loves it! When we took her swimming at her cousin Raylie's house, she looked so calm in the float on the water, but when you looked underneath her feet were kicking 90 mph! She's like a little duck and she can move all over that pool by herself.
Yummy Prunes!
Julia definitely loves her baby food. She started eating rice cereal and prunes at about 4 months and is still loving all kinds of food. Now, she's six months old and we're up to stage 2 foods and she is eating so well. We don't quite make such big messes any more, except occasionally. Right now she's teething, so she can't keep her hands out of her mouth. So last night while I was feeding her she kept putting her hands in her mouth and then wiping the food all over her belly and diaper. Needless to say, sweet peas were everywhere! Her Daddy had to work extra hard at bathing her after that!
4 months old
Julia was 4 months old in July. She loves her feet! I've had several people ask how I got her to hold her feet for this picture...the truth is, I had a hard time trying to get her NOT to hold her feet. Now she can get them in her mouth and she likes to ride down the road in her car seat leaning forward and holding her feet!

Bling, Bling!
Julia got her ears pierced today. We went to Wal-Mart and she got some sparkle earrings for her cute little ears. Her and her aunt Courtney both got their ears pierced together. Julia started crying when her daddy had to pin her down to get the marks put on her ears. But the tears really started flowing when they pierced her ears. As soon as it was over, the pacifier went in and daddy walked her around...she was fine! No more tears and they haven't bothered her since. She looks so cute!
I'm a big girl!
Julia has learned to sit up...for about 3 seconds...then she falls face first, so you have to be ready to catch her! She's growing so big. At her 4 month checkup she weighed 15 lbs. 15 oz. and was 23 1/2 inches long! Can you believe it? She's growing like a weed. We started eating rice cereal from a spoon about 3 weeks ago and last night was the first time we added prunes to it. I couldn't keep up with her. She loved it! In between bites that I was taking too long she would grab the bowl and put the bowl in her mouth. It was really funny! She's laughing out loud now and just found her feet last week, which has brought her a lot of fun!
Julia's Room
For any of you who haven't ever seen Julia's room...here's a peak! I couldn't ever find anything I really liked, so we picked out fabrics and my mom was able to make everything for the room. We love it! It's a lot of pink, but even her daddy likes it! He said pink will be his new favorite color...as well as dance and gymnastics being his new favorite sports I'm sure!
Red, White & Blue
We had a wonderful time on the 4th of July at the beach house. All of John's family came over and we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs...of course no one could leave without having their family picture taken by the flag! That night we sat on the beach and watched a great fireworks show! That's the best way to see fireworks!
Vacation in Myrtle Beach!
We had a great time at the beach in South Carolina! We went for about 2 1/2 weeks to see all of John's family and spend some fun times at Myrtle Beach! Julia had so much fun meeting that side of the family for the first time. Kaleb and Brycen sang her songs and played with her a lot. Her favorite times at the beach were sleeping under the umbrella letting the nice breeze blow across her little bald head:) She took really long naps on the beach and had a nice, relaxing time.
Her "B" (John's mom) bought her a cute little green bathing suit with ruffles...she looked like a little kermit the frog.

Julia's First Swim
Julia went to Raylie's birthday party and got to swim in her cute bathing suit for the first time. John said the water was cold, but she didn't mind. They had a good time swimming and can't wait to go try it out again at the beach next week! You can tell she might have her momma's skin...she's white! At first she had a complexion like her daddy's, but she seems to be getting whiter and whiter.

Father's Day & Baby Dedication
Today was John's first Father's Day. He said he really enjoyed it and that it was really cool having her dedicated on this day. Julia gave her dad a cute card for Father's Day and he got a deer rifle (kind of strange buying him a rifle for Father's Day, I know...but he really liked it). Lyn and Nette came to the dedication service where Julia was dedicated to the Lord and we dedicated ourselves to bring her up in the ways of the Lord. Our family that was present also dedicated to pray for her and support our family in raising our sweet baby girl to love and honor Christ. Today was such a special day and she looked so beautiful in the dress her B bought for her. John even ran out yesterday to get her another lace headband to wear, since we somehow lost her other one:) Oops! She's really got a great dad!

2 Months Old
Julia is two months old now and we cannot believe it! She is growing so much and doing so great. We have just about outgrown our colic stage (yea!) and can now roll over occassionally and hold our head up so well. She is starting to try really hard to laugh, she gets really excited and tickled and all that comes out is a little squeal. It's really cute though.
Working Out!
Julia has been working out for the past few weeks with her Nette everyday. Today (since now I'm off for summer) I started going with them and she has such a great time. She hangs out in her car seat until she gets tired of that and then Nette does exercises with her. Julia's a perfect weight to do lunges, squats, arm curls and crunches with. I don't know what's going to happen when she gets bigger and bigger (Nette's going to have to keep getting stronger). This little one is getting in shape...well maybe just getting us in shape!
We will miss you!
Julia is going to miss hanging out with her friend Noah so much! Our best friends (Skip, Amy and Noah) are moving to Louisiana. Skip is a youth minister and has been called to a new church. We spend so much time with them and it is going to be so hard when they leave. Noah is Julia's super-helper. He brings her bottles, pacifiers and loves playing with her. He's getting practice because Amy will be having a baby in November! We love them so much!

1st Camping Trip
We had such a great time at the lake this weekend for Memorial Day. We took Julia and stayed in a camper with her Nette, Aunt Courtney, Uncle Casey, and Brian. We were pretty packed and it mostly rained, but we still had a great time. Julia and I took a nice nap one day together and you can tell she is definitely a snuggle-bug! She also got to take a bath in the camper sink, which she filled up...there was not much room for anything else. She kept flipping around and splashing which was getting water everywhere. She is doing so well and is now sleeping about 6 1/2 hours at night, so all in the camper were much happier with that. She went the week before for her 2 mo. check-up and shots and weighed 12 lbs 1 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long! She's getting chunky! She's our healthy baby girl! The poor baby's legs bruised and knotted up from the shots (she fussed and cried for about 3 days because of her legs). She even got to put her swimsuit on this weekend for about 2 minutes. We put it on, walked down to the lake and it started raining about 1 minute later, so we walked back to the camper, changed clothes and hung out inside. I guess the swimsuit will have to wait for the S. Carolina trip this summer to the beach!

My First Mother's Day!
It was so wonderful having a Mother's Day! I cannot even begin to explain how rewarding and precious being a mother is. No matter how many nights she stays up all night long and how loud and long she cries, it is so special being my sweet baby's mom. I love you my Julia!
John was so sweet for my first Mother's Day...he gave me diamond earrings! They are so beautiful and it just made the day even sweeter. He definately knows how to make me feel appreciated and loved every day...Julia has the best dad in the world and I have the best husband.

Happy Mother's Day!
B, Papa and Lyn came to visit for Mother's Day! We went to church and then out to eat at El Toro. It was a lot of fun! Julia looked so pretty in her little dress her B bought for her. B also brought a new dress, play outfit, and 4th of July outfit (we can't wait to wear that one at the beach this summer)! Her B definately hooks her up with beautiful clothes!

Can You Believe It?
Julia finally sat in her bouncy seat for 20 minutes by herself and laid under her other toy for 15 minutes. She usually won't lay on her back because of her stomach hurting, so this was a miracle! You can tell in the first picture she even seems surprised herself (that's her shocked look she does all the time).

High Maintenance from the Start - like her momma
Some of you may know that we have been having a lot of problems with Julia's stomach hurting. She has to eat very expensive formula because she has bad gas and she has an immature digestive system. We figured it up the other day and we spend more money on her food than we do on our food. But on the bright side, she is getting better! She is starting to sleep at night(sometimes) and doesn't cry uncontrollably during the day. It was heartbreaking because we knew she was in pain but couldn't do anything about it.

First Sunday at Church
Sunday, April 22 was Julia's first Sunday at church (Dad wasn't able to go because she had kept him up until 5 a.m. that morning!) She stayed in the nursery and was just wonderful...of course she was held the entire time by all the nice ladies who work in the nursery, so who wouldn't be happy? She looked so cute in her little white dress with ruffled bloomers and lace socks, and don't forget about the cute little headband with a bow!
