We love the Bumbo

Julia loves her Bumbo that her B bought her (or bungalow as John calls it). She's just gotten big enough and has enough head control to sit in it by herself. She's doing so good and loves anything where she can sit up by herself.

Julia's First Swim

Julia went to Raylie's birthday party and got to swim in her cute bathing suit for the first time. John said the water was cold, but she didn't mind. They had a good time swimming and can't wait to go try it out again at the beach next week! You can tell she might have her momma's skin...she's white! At first she had a complexion like her daddy's, but she seems to be getting whiter and whiter.

Father's Day & Baby Dedication

Today was John's first Father's Day. He said he really enjoyed it and that it was really cool having her dedicated on this day. Julia gave her dad a cute card for Father's Day and he got a deer rifle (kind of strange buying him a rifle for Father's Day, I know...but he really liked it). Lyn and Nette came to the dedication service where Julia was dedicated to the Lord and we dedicated ourselves to bring her up in the ways of the Lord. Our family that was present also dedicated to pray for her and support our family in raising our sweet baby girl to love and honor Christ. Today was such a special day and she looked so beautiful in the dress her B bought for her. John even ran out yesterday to get her another lace headband to wear, since we somehow lost her other one:) Oops! She's really got a great dad!

2 Months Old

Julia is two months old now and we cannot believe it! She is growing so much and doing so great. We have just about outgrown our colic stage (yea!) and can now roll over occassionally and hold our head up so well. She is starting to try really hard to laugh, she gets really excited and tickled and all that comes out is a little squeal. It's really cute though.

Working Out!

Julia has been working out for the past few weeks with her Nette everyday. Today (since now I'm off for summer) I started going with them and she has such a great time. She hangs out in her car seat until she gets tired of that and then Nette does exercises with her. Julia's a perfect weight to do lunges, squats, arm curls and crunches with. I don't know what's going to happen when she gets bigger and bigger (Nette's going to have to keep getting stronger). This little one is getting in shape...well maybe just getting us in shape!

We will miss you!

Julia is going to miss hanging out with her friend Noah so much! Our best friends (Skip, Amy and Noah) are moving to Louisiana. Skip is a youth minister and has been called to a new church. We spend so much time with them and it is going to be so hard when they leave. Noah is Julia's super-helper. He brings her bottles, pacifiers and loves playing with her. He's getting practice because Amy will be having a baby in November! We love them so much!

1st Camping Trip

We had such a great time at the lake this weekend for Memorial Day. We took Julia and stayed in a camper with her Nette, Aunt Courtney, Uncle Casey, and Brian. We were pretty packed and it mostly rained, but we still had a great time. Julia and I took a nice nap one day together and you can tell she is definitely a snuggle-bug! She also got to take a bath in the camper sink, which she filled up...there was not much room for anything else. She kept flipping around and splashing which was getting water everywhere. She is doing so well and is now sleeping about 6 1/2 hours at night, so all in the camper were much happier with that. She went the week before for her 2 mo. check-up and shots and weighed 12 lbs 1 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long! She's getting chunky! She's our healthy baby girl! The poor baby's legs bruised and knotted up from the shots (she fussed and cried for about 3 days because of her legs). She even got to put her swimsuit on this weekend for about 2 minutes. We put it on, walked down to the lake and it started raining about 1 minute later, so we walked back to the camper, changed clothes and hung out inside. I guess the swimsuit will have to wait for the S. Carolina trip this summer to the beach!

My First Mother's Day!

It was so wonderful having a Mother's Day! I cannot even begin to explain how rewarding and precious being a mother is. No matter how many nights she stays up all night long and how loud and long she cries, it is so special being my sweet baby's mom. I love you my Julia!
John was so sweet for my first Mother's Day...he gave me diamond earrings! They are so beautiful and it just made the day even sweeter. He definately knows how to make me feel appreciated and loved every day...Julia has the best dad in the world and I have the best husband.

Happy Mother's Day!

B, Papa and Lyn came to visit for Mother's Day! We went to church and then out to eat at El Toro. It was a lot of fun! Julia looked so pretty in her little dress her B bought for her. B also brought a new dress, play outfit, and 4th of July outfit (we can't wait to wear that one at the beach this summer)! Her B definately hooks her up with beautiful clothes!

Can You Believe It?

Julia finally sat in her bouncy seat for 20 minutes by herself and laid under her other toy for 15 minutes. She usually won't lay on her back because of her stomach hurting, so this was a miracle! You can tell in the first picture she even seems surprised herself (that's her shocked look she does all the time).

High Maintenance from the Start - like her momma

Some of you may know that we have been having a lot of problems with Julia's stomach hurting. She has to eat very expensive formula because she has bad gas and she has an immature digestive system. We figured it up the other day and we spend more money on her food than we do on our food. But on the bright side, she is getting better! She is starting to sleep at night(sometimes) and doesn't cry uncontrollably during the day. It was heartbreaking because we knew she was in pain but couldn't do anything about it.

It Snowed???

Believe it or not, it actually snowed in Texas on Easter. It was cold and we had fun with snowball fights. Julia got to see her first snow and she will never remember it. My parents and sister came in for the weekend and we had a great time at Crystal's Grandparents.

First Sunday at Church

Sunday, April 22 was Julia's first Sunday at church (Dad wasn't able to go because she had kept him up until 5 a.m. that morning!) She stayed in the nursery and was just wonderful...of course she was held the entire time by all the nice ladies who work in the nursery, so who wouldn't be happy? She looked so cute in her little white dress with ruffled bloomers and lace socks, and don't forget about the cute little headband with a bow!

NEED MORE ROOM!!

Crystal and I packed up to go to Houston last week and realized that babies take a lot of room. We packed up in my blazer for two days and hardly had enough room!! So while out driving around in Houston we found an '04 Tahoe that we fell in love with. We traded in Crystal's car and bought it. It is loaded with sunroof, DVD player, leather, 2nd row captians chairs, and so much more. We are very happy with everthing about it (except gas). Can you believe a six week old has that much influence over her parents??? I think she might be spoiled already!

Our little girl is growing up.

Julia is growing up, she is now holding her head up and starting to respond to us a lot. She is starting to smile and ALWAYS has her tongue sticking out. It reminds me of her cousin Jamie. We have alot of other pictures you can see and download at http://picasaweb.google.com/johndavidforrest

Is this easy?

Well, I have bee using Picasa to show off pictures of Julia, and the problem with it is that you only get to see her and you don't get to hear about our days. I thought this may be easy for me to add to so that Julia Ann's many fans can here about how she is growing and the neat stuff she does. I think that you can leave comments, so let me know what you think about this idea and feel free to share it with anyone that you think may be interested.
